PINAL COUNTY (Aug. 30) — Paul Babeu wants voters to choose him to be their next sheriff because he’s “the most well-rounded” candidate.

That’s among the qualifications the Chandler Police officer related to audiences in recent candidate forums in both the city of Maricopa and Gold Canyon designed to help voters select future leaders.

While he works in Maricopa County, Babeu stressed that he lives in the Johson Ranch area of Queen Creek and is well connected in his home county.

He has earned several professional awards and says, “God willing,” is up for a promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in February.

He stressed that the PCSO needs better training, updated and more technology and a strong leader ready to move the department forward.

“So folks, think about that when we’ve grown in the future as the fastest-growing county in America and who best fits that role.”
